this last year i?ve been feeling like inevitably walking towards a crossroad knowing that i will have to make some decisions. i can?t go on living my spirituality behind closed curtains. it simply doesn?t feel right. it?s time to come out and stand for who i am. there is this need to reach deeper, to grow stronger roots... so one day when i was "google"ing around susuns name suddenly came to my mind and i typed it... and there i was and it truly felt like coming home (i know it sounds pathetic[ ]) that was it! and here is the person i can fully accept as a teacher because i don?t feel small beside her. well, i?m now saving my cents for my first correspondence course[ ] 20 years ago, my life was being directed towards a path that was foreign to me. Even though I had seven years experience of mothering, they were "BC" --Before Consciousness about the Wise Woman Ways. Now, I was preparing for my first homebirth and was totally ignorant about so many things. I wanted to breastfeed this baby but had never even seen a baby breastfed. I asked the elderly women at the laundermat how to fold a cloth diaper. Without question, divine intervention guided me and led me to "Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year". Some of what she said made no sense but my heart told me to accept what spoke to me and let the rest go - it must be speaking to someone else. Through the years Susun has never failed me. All of her books have educated, supported and entertained me. I give her books as gifts to my "BC" friends knowing if they read them, some part will speak to them too. This is all the detail time will permit for this post but if you check my other posts, I`m sure you will hear about Susun`s influence on my life. I feel so very blessed to reap the benefits of her work, and now you too Justine, for all the efforts made on our behalf to give birth to this Forum.
